Flower Terrace Top

Endless florals in flat, soutache braids add a fresh perspective to this soft, cozy top. Metallic lurex yarn shines along the braids. Finished with three-quarter sleeves and looped designs at the hem and neckline. Catherines tops are perfectly proportioned for the plus size woman.

This piece is a sleeper!
Date:May 30, 2013
Pros: Style, Fit, Comfort
I barely noticed this top when I first went through the catalog. After studying the details, I thought I'd give it a try. Wow! This top makes a statement. The detailing on the shirt has the look of braided, thick embroidery. The design has metallic threads in it, so in certain light, it literally glows. Think of it as a "textured" top - it's not a screen-printed design. The swirls are literally 3-D thread designs. Even with the boldness of the texture and the metallic threads, the design still manages to have a very feminine, delicate sense. My only complaint is that there isn't much spandex or other non-wrinkle material mixed in with the cotton. After laundering, you hang it to dry, but because it's cotton, almost like a t-shirt material, hanging doesn't remove all the wrinkles. For a completely polished look, you should reverse it, then run a warm (not hot) iron over it. I work in DC and received so many looks - and I know it's because there isn't anything like this in the stores around here. It's definitely a unique top. You could dress this up or down. The fit is very, very good. I'm big-chested, small waist and big-hipped. It seemed to hug where it needed to, yet fit comfortably everywhere else. Please note that the fabric is heavier than you'd imagine. It is heavier than a t-shirt. I thought it would be too uncomfortable for city summer, but other than the hottest, muggiest of days when you want sleeveless, this wears very well. Also, I was pleased that none of the threads came too loose after washing...twice! Good quality construction.

Looks amazing
Date:May 14, 2013
Pros: Style, Fit, Comfort
Cons: heavy fabric
This top is amazing. Fabric is very heavy. Cute with khakis or capris. Great for the office or a night out. Just enough sparkle for fun. Really nice.

Very generous top
Date:April 29, 2013
Pros: Style, Comfort
Cons: Fit
I am still deciding whether or not to keep this one. It is very generously cut, and that is the problem. The top is well made, however, it is a bit large. I am trying to find a store near by (there are not many left) to return it and hopefully they will have the top in stock so that I can try on a smaller size.
